Sarah Goodridge was an American painter who sent the first-ever nudes in modern history... world history and facts


 It is reported that she was in love with a man called Daniel Webster, an American lawyer and politician. She met Webster as she painted portraits of him. 

When Goodridge first met Webster, he had a wife and three kids. This did not stop the painter and the politician from having an affair. Webster's wife died in 1828, and Goodridge became hopeful that she could marry him.

 It was a trend at the time for a person to send their lover a painting of their lips, eyes, hands or even face, but Goodridge went all the way by painting a portrait of her bare breasts and sending the artwork in the mail to Webster.

Webster married another woman from a wealthy family but did continue to see Goodridge throughout his life.

While countless pieces of art show naked women before 1828, it is thought that this is the first self-portrait of a woman painting her breasts for another person's viewing pleasure. 

In modern terminology, you could say that Goodridge was "down bad".

Leonard Siffleet was an Australian Special Forces radio operator, sent on a mission to Papua New Guinea to establish a coast watching station. The  Rwandan genocide The  Rwandan genocide  occurred between 7 April and 15 July 1994 during the Rwandan Civil War. During this period of around 100 days, members of the Tutsi minority ethnic group, as well as some moderate Hutu and Twa, were killed by armed Hutu militias. Sara Janse Geldof - the last woman executed in Holland. The last woman executed in Holland, after being sentenced to death by a civilian court, was 33 year old Sara Janse Geldof, who was publicly strangled at Middelburg on Monday the 24th of September 1838.   Male criminals were hanged at this time but women were strangled at the stake for the sake of decency. The execution took place on a scaffold erected in front of the town hall. The Vlissingsche Courant of the 25th of September 1838 reported: "In the afternoon of September 24, 1838, Middelburg had the awesome ceremony of the execution of the sentence, passed on Sara Janse Geldhof, housewife of Pieter Johannes Huissoon, by the Court of Assise.  She was condemned to death, by strangling at the pole. Everything was completed in the best order, and a deep silence prevailed in execution. He is a former Australian javelin thrower who competed in the 1962 Commonwealth Games. In 1964 Reg Spiers found himself stranded in London with no money to buy a plane ticket home. Desperate to get back to Australia in time for his daughter's birthday, he decided to post himself home in a wooden crate.   "I just got in the thing and went. What was there to be frightened of?
