Dachau Concentration camp On March 22, 1933, a few weeks after Adolf Hitler had been appointed Reich Chancellor, a concentration camp for political prisoners was set up in Dachau that means that Dachau was the model for the rest of the concentration camps. At first there were only about 4,800 people at Dachau the first year it was open. But as timed moved on they had over 200,000 imprisoned who were counted for. Dachau was cloused on April 29 1945 when American troops liberated the survivors. But most of the survivers died because they were sick or too skinny to survive. THE EXPERIMENT It is widely recognized that the experiments performed on prisoners in German concentration camps during the Second World War were in fact brutal crimes committed under the use of medical research. Most experiments at Dachau were done by Dr. Sigmund Rascher.
