Nanking Massacre and raped victim

   Nanking Massacre and raped victim.

The Nanking Massacre was a horrific event in 1937 where the Japanese army committed mass killings and widespread rape in Nanking, China.

Tens of thousands of civilians and prisoners of war were murdered and over 20,000 women were raped. This atrocity is considered one of the worst of the Second Sino-Japanese War.

The impact of the Nanking Massacre has been lasting, with deep anger and resentment towards Japan still present today. Despite repeated calls for an apology, Japan has been slow to officially recognize the extent of the horrors committed.

In recent years, there have been efforts to raise awareness and preserve the memory of the victims. The Nanking Massacre has been the subject of numerous books, documentaries, and films, and is widely considered a dark moment in Chinese history.
