British officers pose against the background of a shell to the German 800 mm Dora cannon...world history and facts

My father told me how, as teenagers, in the late 60s, they climbed the tunnels where Dora was standing. The railway tracks were also still partially open, this is near Bakhchisarai.

When the bypass road was carried out, everything was finally dismantled, now there are no traces of it.
In St. Petersburg, there is a shell casing from this monster in the Museum of artillery.

Initially, I thought it was an ordinary two-hundred-liter barrel until I read the inscription on the plate.
That's really impressive.
